Getting physical: 9 errors to avoid in designing stores.

“Physical stores are essential in our online world. Brands need a physical and emotional oopspresence ” – Doug Stephens, Retail Prophet

1. Not transmit a differential point: A good location does not guarantee sales, it is essential to design an environment that reinforces our brand image, our brand and which sets us apart from the competition. To do this you can use colors, symbols, icons, textures, shapes, music and even smells inside the store.

2. Excess promotional images: Rebates often override other products and important elements of the store; it is advisable to use them according to the type of product and market. In grocery stores and fashion colorful promos are recommended to capture the attention of consumers; however in luxury goods stores discretion is indispensable.

3. Keep cold areas: Hiding certain products is not only fatal, but attentive to the purpose of our business. Every product in our store should be located in a space specially designed for it. Remember not require constant remodeling if you have furniture adaptable to our creativity.

4. Mishandling of the price announcements: Often found in retail products with outdated, hidden or in the worst cases missing prices. If you do not have a consultant available to the client all the time, nothing beats the prices printed report the correct value of the goods.

5.  No follow a plane to locate products: Each product has different characteristics and public, so must be located so that reaching your potential customers. It is important to remember that while we design our store for a specific audience, trends and times change, so we must be prepared to reach different target markets.

6. Showing products not sold: If not sold, do not sell it. Devise promotional strategies to activate your rotation, but do not let that slow-moving products occupy the space of the most profitable products. Nothing looks worse than providing a shop with products we saw a month or more ago.

7. Not letting touch: If a customer touches a product will be more willing to buy it. Design your store so that customers can experience each product with all their senses, let them touch it, smell it, observe it in detail. If it comes to jewelry, nothing beats a consultant and a mirror on hand.

8. Neglecting the storefront: Many times we tend to forget that the first thing our clients see is the front of our store. We recommend using large windows and allow the best picture of our shop is transmitted through them.

9. Not evolve with our customers: Times change, people change. No suit their new taste and needs is the first step towards the death of our business. Maintain constant communication with our clients so that we can perceive time of renewal. Well they say that creativity is the mother of fidelity.
